Who’s Behind On The Fly? 

Dan Healy is the 32-year-old founder of this newsletter, which was inspired by one simple idea: what’s a resource I wish I had when I first started to help me stay ahead and stand out in my career? From this, OTF was born, and while it can certainly help someone new to the business world, the content still inspires and educates him a decade-plus into his career. 

Having worked for one of the largest financial service companies in the world, Dan’s expertise lies in underwriting, which involves analyzing and assessing businesses from startups to multi-billion-dollar companies. Alongside that, he’s fascinated on what AI can do for us as humans and for businesses. He explores practical ways on how he’s using the tool to improve his performance while documenting the process for other non-tech users to not get left behind.

Dan combines his skills of research and story-telling about businesses to help you spot opportunities, make better decisions and create more options at work and in life using the tools available to us. 

Resumé aside, he’s a husband, dog dad and a creative at heart who wants to help people while documenting his journey.

Prof Mike is a tenured college professor who’s taught writing and public speaking for nearly 15 years now. His expertise is in composition and rhetoric, which are more important than ever in a constant-content-consumption society. 

He’s known Dan for twenty years and has been a valued mentor / consultant behind the scenes since OTF’s inception. Moving forward, he’ll sprinkle his language-related insights into each edition to help you become a more effective communicator. (Just don’t ask for advice re: how to persuade your wife and kids - he hasn’t figured that out yet.)
