MAKING CENTS šŸ’°ļø

Check Every Bill!

Short and Sweet: How often do you look at your receipts? I mean really look at them? Because you could be paying for goods and services you didnā€™t buy. Technology isnā€™t infallible, and humans neither are humans, so mistakes happen more than you might think.

Donā€™t pay more than you should - take thirty seconds and go through that bill.

O.F.T - One Final Thought

After almost getting tricked into an optional charge at the car dealership, I am committed to paying attention to detail when it comes to bills and receipts. Do I think this will make a big difference in my quest to build wealth? Nah, definitely not. But no one ever wants to pay for something they didnā€™t receive, and a few extra bucks here and there never hurt anyone.

Plus, these 30 seconds post-checkout can help you build strong attention-to-detail habits that could be more valuable elsewhere.

NETWORKING HACK šŸ¤

OTF ORIGINAL: Remember ā€œP-E-Gā€ At Your Next Event!

Good communication is about much more than what you say. Itā€™s also about how you say it and how you present yourself (those non-verbal cues), and using this PEG framework helps keep my networking game sharp. To that end, here are three small things to remember the next time youā€™re networking:

  • P = Posture

  • E = Expression

  • G = Gut

  • Posture: The way you stand, sit, and move tells people how confident and engaged you are.

  • Real-world example: Youā€™re at a work event, and two people approach youā€” one is slouched, looking at the floor; the other stands up straight, shoulders back, maintaining eye contact from the moment you connect. Who would you want to work with?

  • Takeaway: Always think about your posture when making that all-important first impression. šŸ’Ŗ

  • Expression: Your facial expressions say a lot, even when youā€™re not talking. The right one can draw people in; the wrong one can push people away.

  • Real-world example: Ever been in a conversation where someoneā€™s face is blank and unengaged? Itā€™s awkward AF. Letā€™s not be that person. Instead, be the person who makes the speaker feel heard. Nod, smile, and react accordingly. Send the message that youā€™re a good listener, and people will want to keep talking to you.

  • Takeaway: Let your facial expressions and non-verbal cues say more than your words ever could. šŸ•ŗ

  • Gut: Trust your gut.

  • Real-world example: Youā€™re talking to someone and instinctively think to yourself, This isnā€™t the sort of connection Iā€™m looking for. Instead of seeing it through, trust that gut of yours. Save time and network more efficiently.

  • Takeaway: Your brain can process a lot of information in a short amount of time. When you find yourself wondering, ā€œShould I share this?ā€ or ā€œShould I stick around?ā€ listen to your instincts and act accordingly. šŸ¤
